I find commentary regarding open vs. closed minds to be vapid. 

After a holiday-shortened week of trading, there will be a deluge of data -- the most important reports in many weeks.  Will it matter?

One thing to search for in the markets, is what entities are being unrealistic.

Kazakhstan's international energy image is now that of one of the world's rising oil exporters, an extraordinary feat given that, two decades ago its hydrocarbon output was beyond insignificant when the USSR collapsed.

It is difficult to forge effective policy solutions during the political "silly season."  We would all like to see less time spent on elections and more on solving problems.
